The ever-present inspiration of travel across the universe of Louis Vuitton leads to a new Nautical Capsule. Elegant in design and effortless in attitude, the collection spans women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and fashion jewelry. From relaxed tailoring and casual-chic seaside ensembles to marine-themed bags and breezy silk scarves, classic sailor elements are re-transcribed with a youthful allure.
As spring approaches, this transitional range signals a sophisticated spin on feminine sportswear. Naturally, the looks are anchored by white and navy, while stripes appear throughout – whether across T-shirt dresses, crisp shirting or plush knits. A double-breasted blazer worn with shorts or a bustier paired with trousers convey a certain polish suited to both city and coastal dressing.
How cute is this lighthouse? I am so in love with it!!!

Evian is partnering with historic Paris fashion house Balmain. With a unique baroque motif designed by Balmain Creative DirectorOlivier Rousteing, this limited edition 75cl glass bottle reflects a shared commitment to embracing our heritage. Paying homage to the fashion house’s founder, Pierre Balmain, who grew up in the small mountain village of Saint Jean de Maurienne, not far from evian’s iconic source in the Alps, its design combines the universes of both houses, with delicate light blue lace features and aqua-like droplets inspired by evian’s pure natural mineral water, enhanced with Balmain’s signature embellished details and gold lettering.
The collaboration also includes the launch of a capsule collection of ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. Classic sportswear silhouettes with the shades of soft pastels that one immediately associates with Balmain runways, the evian universe and, above all, refreshing joys of summer.
Relying on a wide variety of eco-friendly practices, materials and innovations, the collection of laid-back styles and accessories places the collaboration’s focus squarely on the powerful possibilities of a future world of fashion sustainability, all grouped under the distinctive tagline of «Together, change is beautiful.»
The Balmain team undertook the task of integrating a diverse range of materials, such as GOTS-certified organic cottons, sustainable viscose, and various recycled materials, to craft an extensive range of clothing items, including swimsuits, tees, hoodies, bombers, trucker jackets, and jeans.
Through this collaboration, evian and Balmain demonstrated a shared dedication to eco friendly practices, even in the minutest details, such as the recycled polyester labels and composition stickers, paper packaging made from pulp derived from sustainably managed FSC-certified forests, and the use of recycled plastic hangers and bags.
As an extension to the collection, evian and Balmain collaborated with Solaris, a recycling innovation industry leader to highlight the new opportunities presented by recycling plastic waste not suitable for circular economy in the fashion industry. Together, they developed a surprising new spin on the popular Balmain B-It slider: a sleek and transparent B-It that is entirely crafted from plastic waste that is typically judged to be unsuitable for reuse within the circular product cycle. Solaris also assisted Rousteing’s accessory design team, helping create an unexpected take on the house’s luxury Blaze handbag, using a 45% plant-based resin mixture to 3D-print the body and cover of the Blaze. The bag’s handle and lock logo were also 3D-printed, relying on a 100% rPET material created from recycled evian bottle waste (evian rPET flakes) that doesn’t meet circularity standards.
The «Together, Change is Beautiful» campaign was shot by filmmaker and photographer Carlota Guerrero, an artist who aims to portray beauty in a natural and frank way.
Guerrero’s film features the highly acclaimed La Marche Bleue dance troupe performing an original dance piece choreographed by founder Leo Walk. «The sequence was choreographed so that the movements would be impossible to perform alone,» noted Walk. «Instead, the dancers achieved their goal together, supporting each other and making it clear, through dance, that together, change is beautiful.»
Prada Linea Rossa is celebrating such a big revival. First released in 1995 as «Prada Sport» and closed in the mid-’00s, the luxury athleisure line has a rich and storied history, one that demonstrates the brand’s seemingly endless relevancy. Relaunched in F/W 2018, Prada’s sporty line has been an ongoing success.
Motion, transformation, perpetual change – forever shifting, along a line drawn between two points. The Prada Linea Rossa Fall/Winter 2022 campaign reflects a fundamental ethos of dynamic locomotion, ceaseless movement between different poles. And through that motion, clothing transforms, adapting itself to divergent terrain, disparate needs and demands. Constantly changing, ever evolving.
The campaign captures this endless mood of wanderlust, in a series of photographs and motion image created by Norbert Schoerner. Within each, two realities create an impossible hybrid, capturing Linea Rossa as it morphs between extremes, between mountain terrain and urban ecosystems. The protagonists sprint between these environs, captured in movement, their speed blurring the world until two polar realities fuse seamlessly into one.
The imagery reflects the identity of the Linea Rossa collection, the interlacing of different universes, racing between one reality and another. Pieces draw on winter sports – the streamlining and padded protection of skiwear, translated to metropolitan clothes recalibrated for city living. Fabrics are designed to adapt to differing locales, to new demands – mixes of nylon, techno-knit and Prada Extreme-Tex form chassis around the body, achieving delicate balance between disparate elements, fluctuating temperatures, and the demands of the everyday. In striking monochrome enlivened with the iconic Linea Rossa emblem, these pieces are also fusions, of Prada’s minimalized style with high- performance sportswear, timelessly engineered for bodies in dynamic movement. .
I get often asked how I am staying fit. And the answer is I love doing sports. After years of ballet, I am more in the mind-body wellness and adore pilates and yoga. Both workouts lengthen and strengthen the body. They both focus on breath, alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and are done barefoot. Some moves and poses even overlap.
Strengthening your core in pilates class will give you better balance in yoga; increasing your flexibility in yoga class will enable you to move deeper in pilates. Both sports are highly effective as they use your whole body and different muscle groups.
Yoga Wheel Training with Karolina Schmid
In Zurich I train with Karolina Schmid who runs a studio for high end pilates and yoga personal training, with private lessons or trainings in small groups. At the Alexander Wang x H&M launch event last week in NYC, there was a huge pop-up store where we could buy the collection first hand before it will hit the stores worldwide on November 6, 2014. The photos of the night will be coming up shortly.
Alexander Wang‘s inspiration was sportswear that “could be translated to things you can use in other events or situations. That idea of sports at night came into my head.” This was the outfit I got myself at the pop-up store and I was curious to try its functionality right after I landed at my private yoga class. The pieces have absolutely convinced me, the breathable fabrics have great quality and deliver what they promise. I recommend getting your shopping list ready before hand as those items will be flying off the shelves.
My look: Breathable top and pants, beanie with logo, water bottle, towel and key chain with mini boxing gloves, all by Alexander Wang x H&M.
If you are looking for a great yoga class in Zurich, try the Iyengar Yoga Center. Maya & Vasili Vlachos (pictured here with me) are the best ones in town. I have been training with them for many years.
Before the show will be taking place tonight here in NYC, the Alexander Wang x H&Mlookbook has been revealed. It’s all about sport with strappy scuba dresses, heavy grey sweatshirts, mesh-paneled leggings, cropped bra-tops, leather jogging pants (I LOVE), and must-have parkas.
For the accessory-minded, there are boxing gloves, beanies, and duffels in the mix, many items branded with a big fat WANG logo. Stay tuned and start planning your shopping list ahead of time. The collection for both, women and men, will hit the shelves worldwide on November 6, 2014. I am off to the press conference now… more to come soon.
Greetings from New York City where I am at the moment for the launch event of Alexander Wang x H&M. The highly anticipated collection which had been announced back in April, will finally hit H&M stores around the world on November 6, 2014.
While I am writing this post, I am enjoying the view from my room at the Soho Grandhotel.
The invitation says it all. Tonight, the cocktail reception will start at 7.30pm, followed by the show, a pop-up store where we can buy the collection first hand and a live performance which I am absolutely convinced will be amazing.
Do you remember Nicki Minaj and Prince playing at the Versace x H&M launch in 2011 or the amazing party to celebrateMaison Martin Margiela x H&Mtwo years ago in NYC? We always talk superlatives. Be sure to follow me tomorrow on instagram @sandrascloset for live updates.
By now you might have seen some sneak previews of the very sporty collection. The press release reveals that Alexander Wang X H&M captures the speed of the city, mixing sports and performance of everyday life. The pieces are meant to be worn on the street, in the gym, at the club – the way women and men live their lives today.
Rihanna led the way and was already spotted in a look from the collection: a stretchy crop top and leggings emblazoned with Wang’s blocky logo.
In addition to apparel for both women and men, the collection includes shoes and bags, as well as “objects,” a selection of everyday items that are infused with a sense of humor and irony, as for example mini sized boxing gloves as key-rings or a whistle on a two-finger ring and for the victor, a magnetized Alexander Wang trophy cup.
Below you can enjoy a sneak preview of the advertising campaign shot by Mikael Janssonfor Wang’s one-off collaboration with H&M that features sports gear like a hockey stick and boxing gloves plus real athletes, soccer player Andy Carroll and kickboxer Rivaldino dos Santos.
The female models are Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann and Isabeli Fontana.
“We wanted to take certain elements of each sport and portray the ultimate warrior,” Wang told WWD. “The girls had to feel big and heroic, and Mikael used sunlight glares to heighten that effect against a stark white backdrop.”
I am truly excited for tonight’s event! Stay tuned for more!
Sportswear is a huge trend this S/S 2014 season and its stroke of sheer genius is mesh, wether it is seen on a sporty top, a sultry dress – or a sophisticated pair of heels. Nothing seems quite as fresh as a this airy material that is revealing parts of your skin. You can dress it up or keep it simple – yet you will be sure to turn fashion heads this season.
This summer, you should take inspiration from sportswear for your beach attire and spice it up with some tribal details. Just make sure that your approach is completely luxurious. I recommend straps wrapped around your waist and vibrant prints. Accessories such as sunglasses, hats or embellished hair slides take your day in the sand to the next level of style. Use some bronzer for a sun kissed glow and add texture to your beach waves. Below is your shopping list:
Here is your ultimate S/S 2014 runway trend guide. This season, there is fashion for every personality. It’s about tribal details, the power of pleats and the beauty of flowers, whether they’re luxurious embroideries or bold statement prints.
