«Sometimes you gotta kiss a frog to find a prince» and if you do, please do it in style. Nicky Zimmermann says if she wasn’t a designer, she’d be a florist, which explains all the beautiful botanical patterns in her collections that I adore so much. Made from breathable linen it is the perfect choice for not having an attack of sweating when Mr. Right is standing in front of you.
My look: Verity cropped grosgrain-trimmed floral-print linen top and matching Verity cropped grosgrain-trimmed floral-print linen flared pants, both Zimmermann, embellished PU pumps by Stella McCartney, stingray clutch by Alaïa, choker with evil eye symbol and long pearl necklace, both by Chanel, embellished square butterfly sunglasses by Celine, gold-plated Swarovski crystal clip earrings by Dolce & Gabbana, diamond bracelet by Vainard Fine Jewellery, rose diamond ring by Piaget, Tonda 1950 clarity watch by Parmigiani Fleurier.

Since last year, baby boomer nails, also known as French Fade, have been all the rage in France and Germany. And if you just asked yourself, «what the heck are baby boomer nails and why is a nail trend coming from Europe?» Here is your answer: Baby boomer nails are the perfect blend of minimal nail art and the classic French manicure providing an ombré look that is less bold and more sophisticated.
Step 1: The white colour is applied with a sponge-like tool to the tip.
The name derives from the Baby Boom generation that is most often defined as those individuals born between 1946 and 1964 who grew up at a time of dramatic social change, widely associated with privilege. The term itself refers to a noticeable increase in the birth rate after World War II. In this time of the baby boom, the most popular nail colours were besides red, frosted pinks and whites. So for reasons that seem obvious this is why the ombré trend was named because of the era the polish colours were most popular.
Step 2: A thin layer of pink gel is applied and afterwards filed into the perfect shape.
If you want to get on board with the baby boomer look but don’t know how you’ll explain it to your manicurist, here is how my beloved nail artist Megan Stadler does it. These are her pro tips to take to your next appointment in case you are not living in Zurich, otherwise call her for under +41 79 425 8868. I have gel nails (love how long-lasting they are) but you can of course also achieve the look with regular nail polish.
Step 3: A pink gloss for the ultimate shine.
It’s a timeless and elegant look, soft pink fading into frosted white tips. The shape of the nail is up to you. There’s something romantic about it, perfect for a wedding. I am totally in love and you?

Once a year, the Wiener Staatsoper turns into the world’s most beautiful and elegant ball room for the Vienna Opera Ball: a glamorous gala of unique splendour and allure, the ball of all balls, much-copied around the world. It had been on my bucket list since a long time, it is something you should have experienced once in your life.
My dear friend Ljuba Manz invited me for this spectacular night where around 300 debutantes make their dream come true and dance the first polonaise on this unique ballroom floor. After that, it’s Alles Walzer or “Let the waltz begin!“. For more information about the history and the strict dress code, click here for a previous post.
My look: Glen sleeved embroidered dress by Temperley London, cropped shearling jacket with mink and embellishments and Saffiano double handle mini satchel, both by Prada, leather platform pumps by Gucci, diamond ring and diamond bracelet by Vainard Fine Jewellery, rose diamond ring by Piaget and Tonda 1950 clarity watch by Parmigiani Fleurier.
Music and dance all over the opera building, sumptious floral decorations, ladies in elaborate gowns, and gentlemen in elegant tailcoats, made the Vienna Opera Ball an unforgettable event for me!

Some of the photos were taken before the gala at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton Vienna.
Last Saturday, I was invited by a dear friend from Munich to a very special celebration, the Great Gatsby party, held at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jan-Cap-Ferrat, France. The decoration and the ambiance were divine. It is definitely one of the most beautiful villas on the Côte d’Azur, located between Nice and Monaco. The villa of Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild is also a museum, a pleasant daytrip destination, that houses a rich fine and decorative arts collection in a Belle Époque Italian-style palazzo.
My look: Vintage nude silk dress with plissé by Ralph Lauren Black Collection, feather stole, satin evening bag with fake fur trim, choker and earrings, all by Dior, long pearl and feather necklace by Lanvin, t-bar spectator shoes by Yves Saint Laurent (S/S 2004), feather-embellished velvet headband by Prada, brooch (worn in my hair) by Matthew Williamson and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! I hope that you will be spoilt and have to time to relax on this very special day. Personally speaking, family means a lot to me and therefore I was very happy to spend the last weekend in my hometown Frankfurt in Germany to celebrate my nephew’s baptism. I am very blessed as I have amazing parents and a super duper little sister!
Frankfurt is a city full of contrasts. In the center, it is filled with skyscrapers that gave it the nickname «Mainhattan». If you head to the suburbs, you will find the most beautiful landscapes, green and picturesque. I am sure that you can feel the diversity in my pictures.
In this post, you see me wearing pieces from Prada’s S/S 2018 collection which I absolutely adore. Miuccia Prada collaborated with eight female illustrators who depict women in their own «uniquely empowering way» as the fashion show notes read. From manga to punk to sci-fi by artists such as Brigid Elva, Jöelle Jones, Stellar Leuna, and Trina Robbins among others, let the artwork do the talking!
My look: Tiger-print Misty-patch coat, comic-print one-shoulder cotton dress, frame comic-print leather bag, and appliquéd leather sneakers, all by Prada. Square-frame glitter sunglasses by Gucci, Rose des Vents bracelet, 18k yellow gold, diamond and turquoise by Dior, Tonda 1950 set clarity watch by Parmigiani Fleurier, and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.

My search for the perfect day to night dress was over when I found this gorgeous embellished one. Mini stands in this case for minimal dressing effort with a huge effect. This showstopper makes a sharp and chic style statement. Combined with my favorite clutch ever, the Chanel cigar box, I love wearing it around the clock.
My look: Ruffle trimmed single breasted wool coat by Gucci, Showmanship Dark Rush dress by Mary Katrantzou, suede over-the-knee boots by Saint Laurent, and cigar box clutch by Chanel from the Coco Cuba Croisière 2017 collection. Tribale earrings by Dior and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.

It’s Oscar weekend, which means party time in my favorite city in the world. Here you see me at the famous Sheats-Goldstein House, one of the sexiest properties in all Los Angeles. The cave-like concrete-and-glass residence – which is located in Beverly Crest to be precise – was designed by John Lautner and played in many movies, such as in «The Big Lebowski» or «Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle», and served as the setting for a gazillion of fashion editorials.
Photo of James Goldstein and me via his Instagram @jamesfgoldstein
There were two subsequent owners before the mysterious multi-millionaire businessman James F. Goldstein purchased the residence in 1972, in a state of some disrepair. Goldstein commissioned John Lautner to work on the transformation of the house; a series of remodelings that would encompass the entire house over a period of more than two decades. Goldstein himself looks famous and likes to dress in head-to-toe leather always combined with a hat. His favorite brands are Balmain or Saint Laurent.
Goldstein’s personal hat collection in his house.
Goldstein loves to surround himself with celebrities, the house is plastered with memories of those encounters.
Coming back to the Sheats-Goldstein house. It is probably the most dangerous house I have ever been in. Never get drunk there for sure! There aren’t any rails around the patio or along the outdoor hallway and boy, it’s steep. Everything is glass and even that I knew, I ran against it once, ending up with a huge bump on my forehead.
My look: Cropped suede jacket, patchwork printed silk-georgette dress, Anita fringed suede shoulder bag, suede ankle boots and brown studded belt, all by Saint Laurent. Rose diamond ring and Limelight Gala watch, both by Piaget and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.

Last Friday, I attended the opening of the eighth edition of the famous ASMALLWORLD Winter Weekend in Gstaad. As I already mentioned in a previous post, the first night’s gala dinner «La Vie en Or» asked for something «glamorous with a touch of gold».
My look: Golden leather jacket with the slogan «Votez Coco» by Chanel, embellished stretch-jersey mini dress by Balmain, Dolce Box embellished croc-effect and textured-leather clutch by Dolce & Gabbana, metallic and matte-leather pumps by Saint Laurent, gunmetal lurex Caro bracelet and personalized black lurex Caro bracelet, both by Carolina Bucci, earrings by Prada, diamond bracelet and ring, both by Vainard Fine Jewellery.
Let’s get that party gstaaded – more coming up soon from this fab weekend!
