Nothing creates more impact than flowers as they are timelessly filled with the spirit of spring and romance. I love wearing floral prints because they make me feel ultra feminine. Here you see me wearing such an outfit. It was the perfect choice to attend the Art in the Park event in Zurich’s Baur au Lac gardens two weeks ago.

In summer I love long dresses with a bohemian vibe. Perfect for a stroll through the city.

Treat yourself! It’s the patriotic thing to do and this was my motto for the day of the Fourth of July. After a lovely yoga session at the beach early in the morning, I wore my new stars and stripes bikini for a lazy day at the pool followed by a little shopping tour in the afternoon at The Shops at Wailea, a sweet little mall close to my hotel.

My look, of course Hawaiian-inspired:

Today’s post is dedicated to the shoe trends for F/W 2011. After having analyzed dozens of shoes, I am happy to give you an insight of what to get. Good news is that the versatility is gigantic and that every women will find something to love. Round and pike toes are both in vogue, so just stick to your favourite version.

The shoe of the season is the high-heeled loafer.

My favourite high-heeled loafer is this one by Alexander Wang.

Which heel shape is trendy? All! Spike heels compete with the chunky ones for your desire while wedges remain the stars of the season.

My favourite is this stiletto pumps by Camilla Skovgaard.

It seems that we cannot get enough of the wedge and platform trend. The look has transferred to the winter from last season.

My favourite wedges are the gold ones Yves Saint Laurent.

Patent leather, suede and satin are among designer’s perfered materials for their winter collections. I recommend a vibrant, bold hue.

My favourite is the berry-coloured suede model by Christian Louboutin.

Reptile skins are very trendy this season, with python as the absolute must-have.

My favourite are the patchwork python boots by Missoni.

One more material is worth mentioning: Metallic leather which comes in a large variety of colours and shine, not only suitable for nighttime. Enlighten your day with a pair of glittering heels.

My favourite are the metallic booties by Heather Williams.

Lacing is a sexy detail and has been seen on many runways.

My favourite model with laces is the boot by Balmain.

This winter you should add plenty of buckles to your look as they adorn many shoes.

This morning, I left the house in those beautiful Chloé wedges from the S/S 2011 collection and came home in those…

…tulle embellished sandals by H&M. You might ask why did she change shoes?
The reason was that I got the biggest blisters from the Chloé wedges. My feet were honestly in such pain that I draggged myself to the nearest H&M to buy another pair of shoes.
And they are pretty cute, don’t you think?!

Metallics have stayed being a huge trend this season. Gold in particular is everywhere and adorns especially handbags and shoes. Here are my two favourites for this summer. As sale has started almost everywhere, keep an eye on those two investment pieces.

Chunky heels and wedges, this is what the summer 2011 is all about . Being more comfortable than high heels (especially if you live like me in a city plastered with cobblestones) and giving you a more casual and effortless look, those shoes will be surely bestsellers.

Enjoy those creations for this summer that are bold, daring and definitely different.

The footwear innovation for S/S 2011 is the flatform – a ballet flat elevated on a high platform heel, that gives you extra hight. Kind of reminiscent of summer espandrilles, but only higher. Designers are loving them at the moment.

Last week, I spent a few days in San Francisco. Haight Ashbury is the famous intersection in the area that gets its notoriety from the “psychedelic” culture and the 1968 “Summer of Love”. Today, you can still feel the hippie vibe with its fragments of flower-power.

When I was walking around the district, I got so inspired by the gorgeous bright coloured houses, so-called Painted Ladies. The term refers to Victorian and Edwardian buildings painted in three or more colours that embellish their architectural features.

Adopting that idea and transferring it to fashion, I styled some beautiful outfits in different colour combinations. You will see how stunning some shades can look together. Most people tend to wear a more neutral palette along with black. There is nothing against this. But today, I want to challenge you a bit and demonstrate how wonderful a little mix with some bolder tones can appear without looking like a clown.

It is again all about that special twist. Carrie in Sex and the City might be the perfect example: Patricia Field, the show`s stylist, opts very often for something that looks kind of strange in the beginning, but then so surprising and interesting that you cannot take your eyes of it.

Experiment with your own style! That is the thing that is so hard to copy and will earn you lots of admiring glances.
