Summer florals are nothing new in fashion, but this year one particular flower is taking over: the orchid. I have fallen in love with Zimmermann‘s flourishing, vibrant interpretation.

«Sometimes you gotta kiss a frog to find a prince» and if you do, please do it in style. Nicky Zimmermann says if she wasn’t a designer, she’d be a florist, which explains all the beautiful botanical patterns in her collections that I adore so much. Made from breathable linen it is the perfect choice for not having an attack of sweating when Mr. Right is standing in front of you.

Being stylish and comfortable is the goal for my everyday style. My advice? Take your comfy casual look to comfy chic by adding a well cut jacket and some eye-catching accessories.

On Saturday we celebrated Street Parade in Zurich, the most attended technoparade in Europe. I prefer leaving the streets to the ravers as I find it too crowded but I still enjoy the music very much. Therefore personally speaking the place to be is the Boum-Boum au Lac party in the exclusive garden of the Hotel Baur au Lac where I also stayed that day in a beautiful corner suite. As it rained the whole morning, it was tough to decide on the outfit. Finally the  sun came out and I went for this bohemian style.

Greetings from Saint Tropez at the French Riviera. I love this contradictory place with its jet setter elegance and quaint old town French style. One of my favorite brands at the moment is Zimmermann. Their luxe bohemian clothing is sure to evoke wanderlust and all of their offerings for the perfect beach wardrobe.

The retro one-piece swimsuit feels so right again. Better than ever, those new offerings are really fun, and could double as bodysuits. You can style them with pants or tailored jackets to the office or with hot pants to the next festival.

On Thursday I flew to London as guest of UBS to watch the UK premiere of «The Mother», a powerful narrative dance production based on Hans Christian Andersen‘s dark tale, choreographed by Arthur Pita and starring super ballerina Natalia Osipova, principal of the Royal Ballet, alongside multi-award winning dancer Jonathan Goddard, that was accompanied by an amazing original live music performance.

After the ballet, I was invited by UBS to join the gala dinner at Skylon restaurant in the presence of the two dance superstars. A true pleasure to meet those outstanding talents in person, especially for me as I used to dance ballet professionally when I was younger.

Last week, you could find me in Milan for the launch of ACQUA DI PARMA‘s new home collection. The beautiful event location was next to Arco della Pace, a triumphal arch in the Sempione Park. I will tell you more about the Italian brand’s new scented candles and diffusers, that bring a touch of Italy to your home, next week in detail due to the embargo date. Today, is August 1st, Swiss National Day. It has been an official national holiday since 1994, although the day had been suggested for the celebration of the foundation of the Swiss Confederacy as early as 1889. This day was chosen because August 1st 1291 was the date on which three Alpine cantons swore the oath of confederation, an act which later came to be regarded as the foundation of Switzerland.

I have been living in Switzerland now for over eleven years and I feel absolutely at home. I love the mountains, the lake of Zurich, the people, the food and of course the Swiss textiles which are famous around the world. Therefore I thought that I dedicate today to the «Swiss Dots».

«Dotted Swiss», also known as «Swiss Dot», is a sheer cotton fabric that is embellished with small dots. The dots can be applied in a number of different ways and colors. The design is said to have originated around 1750 in St. Gallen, Switzerland, which emerged as a textile center in the 15th century.

I love this fabric especially in white on long maxi dresses. In combination with red accessories, it  can take you everywhere from weekend brunch to evening events.
